Screwtape dictates a letter to Toadpipe.

I’ve read and enjoyed some of C.S. Lewis’ books, including a few chapters of The Screwtape Letters. The book is essentially about a senior demon, Screwtape, who sends letters to his nephew, Wormwood, giving advice on how to tempt a man into sinning.
I was invited to watch the theater performance [...]

Metropolis (2001) is a beautifully animated film with an interesting storyline. The movie is based on a 1949 manga by Osamu Tezuka, the “Father of Anime”, creator of some of the very first manga. Tezuka took story and design elements from the 1926 Fritz Lang silent movie with the same title (according to Wikipedia). The [...]

Steamboy

I just rented Steamboy (2005), and it’s a great movie; I thoroughly enjoyed watching it! I enjoy anime, and the artistic style of this movie is similar in my opinion to that of Hayao Miyazaki’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky and especially Howl’s Moving Castle. Steamboy was directed by Katsuhiro Otomo, director of the highly [...]

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao defeated Marco Antonio Barrera tonight in a 12 round unanimous decision fight. While I was obviously hoping Manny would win, I felt a bit sorry for Barerra, considering it was his retirement fight and he lost. I was also hoping to see a knockout, but Pacquiao still won so it’s [...]

Chicken Pad Thai
Went to Chef’s Secret today for some awesome chicken Pad Thai. They even gave me a set of spices to sample, in addition to the lime.
Unfortunately, I also tried Tom Kha Phak, a weird tasting vegetable coconut soup. I don’t plan to order it again.
